On Fridays, the gates of Taj Mahal are only open for those who practice Islam as they come here to offer their holy prayers and solicit their god's blessings.
The time from 6 am to 7 pm everyday is considered as the best time to experience the time-honored glory of Mughals in form of Taj Mahal from close quarters. One has to give additional costs for observing this grand monument for the period of sunset. Localities and other travelers are permitted to go within the mosque in the compound to proffer prayers on each Friday. However, there are special rates for dawn and late evening timings and that should be consulted and confirmed with the concerned authorities.
